What if I told you that my favorite UK artist is someone other than Skepta? Better yet, what if I told you that a female artist is top 10 within the UK Hip-Hop game? Lil Simz has easily grabbed the attention of many listeners when discussing one of the best artist in UK Hip-Hop as of late.
She has a particular sound that makes the house music listeners gravitate towards her as well. Her music presents a taste of many cross cultural clashes that provides an appealing taste to today’s listeners. When speaking on such, the sounds that come to mind are: Hip-Hop; Warm House; West African Rhythm; and EDM. Sounds a bit bizarre when voicing those blends of comparisons out loud but the resume of this artist don’t disappoint.
“Drop 7” , her recent EP, provide all those vibes and I would definitely say it has some influence from the artist MIA(Paper Planes). With all the diversity that’s presented in this project, you can definitely add it to your rotation for the summer to add a lil splash.
