Gotta Catch 'Em All: Fat Cat Collectibles

Young Collector, Marc Moore is aiming to dominate the trading card market with FCC. He just opened a location down on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, so I went in for an exclusive interview. In a report by Ebay last year, trading card sales have more than doubled recently. Let’s get into the mind of Moore.

The Hive travels down to visit FCC in person

Welcome to the Hive. Today we have 24-year old Twitcher/gaming phenom, Marc Moore… Tell us a little bit about yourself? How did you come up with the name/concept Fat Cat Collectibles? Is this a Garfield reference?

My name is Marc Moore. I’m a Biloxi native and I’m 24 years old. I was never good at coming up with catchy or cool nicknames, but one day while trying to come up with the business name I saw a “lucky cat” statue at a local restaurant and then “Fat Cat” hit me out of nowhere.

So what originally got you into collecting? What was the first thing you remember having a collection of?

As a kid, I lost my right leg in a lawn mower accident, so growing up I was very limited on what hobbies I could participate in (things like football, track, baseball, and any other hobby that was based on physical activity). I was always into anime and anything pop-culture growing up, so I started off with collecting Pokémon cards, Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards, and comics then just continued with everything to this day.

I've always been fascinated by the rarity of certain items, or the fact that certain items will only continue to rise in popularity and value over time, so I always tried to find things that had potential.

Makes sense. So, what you got for sale... Do you only collect trading cards or....?

I have a wide variety of common and rare items for sale such as: Comics, Trading cards, action figures, movie memorabilia, celebrity autographs, and plenty more.

Ahhh, a well-cultured gamer too, i see? What type video games are you currently beasting in & what were your favorite franchises growing up?

As of now when I get some free-time I mainly play COD, but growing up... my favorite franchises were 007, any Tony Hawk game, and any Dragonball Z game!

I actually have a few Exodia pieces laying around myself.... (this was cap) Where can a fellow collector find your site & products? (website, IG, FB, Youtube, etc.)
