Some would say it’s ironic how this tape would drop during the early stage of cuffing season/ holiday season/ football season. Basically, these are times where we look to fellowship with our loved ones and reconnect with the ones we keep close within in our lives. Well be prepared to take a rain check because Future has a different agenda for us. As this tape sets a different tone, The Winter Arc will have a different meaning this year.
In order to give an honest review on this album, visiting his earliest projects was absolutely necessary. Its always easy to say or compare this album to his older projects, but I’ve come to the conclusion that (in my opinion) this project is a mixture of all his tapes that he dropped after Monster.
The hidden details to imitate the mixtape vibe was definitely there. A mixtape is known as a introduction to an album, meaning full length songs are not necessarily needed. As stated before, with this project sound, it’s seems to be a mixture of all his tapes that he dropped after Monster , but the tone is different than the others. It seems that someone poked a bear and that what led to this certain aggressive tone as if it’s a reminded. Which leads me to one of my favorite and most interesting songs on the tape, “Press the Button.” It’s as if he’s responding to Drake’s “Red Button” that was on his latest project. There’s a lot of speculation going around with Drake and the music industry and it caused both too named artists to have a fall out.
This tape is packed with many theme songs going into this winter season. It’s already deemed as a classic, so it’s definitely timeless and will definitely get more plays going into the spring/summer. Meaning this tape is going to hate seeing the Passport Bro’s coming, I fear. Who’s to say that there won’t be more?
